Carl is a specialist Criminal Advocate with an emphasis on High Value Fraud, Serious Violence, Drug Conspiracies and Murder, many involving cross border investigations involving both national police forces and Interpol.

​

Carl previously acted as a private prosecutor both as a litigator and as an advocate for 8 years for a national animal charity and has been involved in defending cases of all types prosecuted by Private Prosecutors, both national organisations and individuals.

 

His work defending clients was featured as part of a television documentary, which followed Scotland Yard’s specialist Internet Child Pornography unit.

 

Carl has been a regular contributor to a National Newspaper writing an advice column specifically dealing with matters on Criminal Law.

Other Legal Specialities

​

  • Dangerous Dogs - For a period of 8 years, Carl was a private prosecutor for the RSPCA and therefore has an in depth knowledge of cases involving dangerous dogs and cases where dogs are alleged to have been used as weapons in gang attacks.

  • Door Supervisors - Being a former Close Protection Officer for an MP, a member of the House of Lords, a number of High Ranking Public figures and having run a door supervisor company, Carl undertakes work on behalf of Door Supervisors and also advises the Security Profession on the Legal Aspects of their work. Carl is available to advise on cases brought against staff for assault whilst undertaking their duties as well as other allegations relating to dishonesty and sexual allegations.

  • Witness Preparation - Strict rules exist as to what pre-trial preparation can be undertaken by a Witness to help familiarise themselves with the process and stresses of giving evidence in a Civil or Criminal trial. As a specialist trainer for a leading Organisation, Carl is available on request to help prepare anyone who is due to attend court as a Witness in order to help them give the best evidence possible.

  • Away from work, Carl has been a Martial Arts Instructor for the last 30 years, not only in the United Kingdom but also around the world, to civilians, door supervisors and law enforcement personnel.

  • Mia is an experienced paralegal having previously worked at a well 2 known private laws firm in Hertfordshire undertaking legal work in many different specialist areas.

​

  • Having experienced different types of privately funded law, she decided that her interests lie in Criminal Litigation.

​

  • As part of her degree at the University of Hertfordshire, Mia achieved 3 first class grades in the Criminal Litigation modules and went on to study specialism both Terrorism Law and the ever evolving area of Cyber Crime.

​

  • Mia also gained separate accreditations in Criminology and in the Forensic Psychology of Crime.

​

  • Away from work, Mia enjoys horse riding recreationally, having previously successfully taken part in competition.
